The Building’s Unique Architecture
The Newseum features many different exhibits that focus on the news coverage of some of the most important moments in history.
One of the main reasons why people choose to visit the Newseum is because the building itself is very attractive. This museum’s unique architecture is actually suspended from the top floor.
The Newseum is equipped with one of the world’s largest glass elevators, so make sure to take full advantage of it during your visit. Also, it is important to note that all those support columns that you can see are actually just hiding the cords and wires. That being said, the Newseum truly is one of the most interesting museum in the world!

Inside Today’s FBI
Inside Today’s FBI is one of the most attractive exhibits that the Newseum has to offer. It focuses on some of the most shocking FBI cases in recent history, and it also explains how the FBI’s techniques have evolved as both technology and crime changed.
Simply put, Inside Today’s FBI offers a very interesting look at how the FBI fights crime, as well as how the media portrays these events.
New Media Gallery
The New Media Gallery is another very interesting exhibit that you can experience at the Newseum. With this in mind, New Media Gallery is an interactive exhibit that is suitable for both kids and adults. This exhibit features some really interesting videos and interactive galleries. The New Media Gallery also allows you to create your own front page.
The Journalist Memorial
Journalist Memorial is an exhibit where you can find the names of journalists who have lost their lives in the line of duty. This includes the names of many different photographers and editors, as well as many different broadcasters. Keep in mind that new names are constantly being added to the list.
The 9/11 Gallery
And last but not least – The 9/11 Gallery. Its name pretty much speaks for itself. This moving exhibit shows the horrible events that shocked the world on September 11, 2001. This exhibit features some really interesting things, including moving films, stories from journalists, and eye-witness accounts related to the events of that tragic day.

Visitor Info
The Newseum is open Monday through Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM and Sunday from 10 AM to 5PM. It is possible to book a ticket online. This museum is located between the White House and the U.S. Capitol (555 Pennsylvania Ave.). Feel free to contact the staff by calling 202/292-6100. Also, the Newseum will be closing its doors on December 31, 2019, so use this time to visit while you still can.
Another local attraction that really compliment the Newseum is the National Gallery of Art. Be sure to block out some time on your schedule when you’re in Washington to visit it as well!
