How Can Priddy Clean Improve Your Home?

As a focal point, a fireplace can set the tone for the whole aesthetic and style of a room. Rough brick or stone can give the space a rustic tone, while smooth tile can be used to set a modern tone. Whatever your style, Priddy Clean can give your fireplace a facelift to reflect your style and update the overall look and feel of your living space.

Using your ideas perhaps from design books, magazine clippings, pictures of your neighbor’s tile work, our experts will create the perfect solution for your space within your budget.

Here are a few ways we can help you turn your fireplace into a focal point:

Glass Doors

Installing or updating the doors on your fireplace enhance the safety and overall aesthetic of your fireplace. The built-in screen on doors serves as protective barriers that prevent embers and sparks from escaping the fireplace causing damage to flooring or worse, an object to catch fire. Glass doors also increase efficiency and help reduce your utility costs. A fireplace without doors is like drafty windows, allowing cool or warm air to escape. And lastly, fireplace doors are an easy way to upgrade the look of your fireplace. Glass doors come in a variety of colors, finishes, and styles. Whatever your style, our team can help you choose the right doors for your fireplace.

Fireplace Mantels and Built-Ins

Upgrading your fireplace mantel is another way to easily enhance the look of your fireplace and make it a focal point in your living space. Mantels come in a variety of sizes, styles, and finishes – so no matter your style, we can find a mantel to fit your aesthetic.

Firebox Rebuilding

Years of fires deal damage to the interior walls of your fireplace. In older homes, particularly in Washington D.C., some fireplaces were built with a ceramic tile floor – a material not UL listed for use inside of a fireplace. Interior fireplace was should be composed of fire brick and high heat mortar. But there is no reason to sacrifice style – fire brick can be laid in a variety of patterns and color.

Tile or Stone Fireplace Surround and Hearth

Resurfacing the fireplace surround and hearth can greatly enhance the look of your fireplace and update your fireplace. The surround and hearth serve an important function which is to create a barrier between the fire and combustibles. Our knowledgeable team will help you select material finishes and ensure that your fireplace surround and hearth conform to code.

In Addition to tile and stone, our installers also have experience painting, whitewashing masonry fireplaces and other material finishes. Check out our project gallery to see what we can do for you.

To add function and efficiency we can help you with:

Gas Conversions

Thinking of converting your wood burning fireplace to gas? No problem, our team can help each step of the way from unit selection to installation. Natural Gas fireplaces have many advantages, including constant heat, no sparks, no soot particles and easy operation.

When switching to a gas fireplace, you have several choices.  You can choose gas logs or a gas insert.  Gas logs are a gas burning appliance consisting of a gas burner made to resemble a log and used in a fireplace to simulate the effect of a burning log.  A gas fireplace insert is a metal box which is placed inside of your masonry or pre-fabricated fireplace. A log-and-burner set is inside a metal box and then surrounded by a larger metal box that fits into the existing fireplace. Radiant heat is created as warm air in the gap between the boxes radiates from the firebox. Part of the installation process involves holes being drilled for gas and electrical lines. A gas fireplace insert can be vented with a fixed glass panel you can watch the flames through or it can be vent-free with a glass panel or fixed metal screen.

Wood Burning Inserts and Stoves

Installing a wood stove is a great way to increase the efficiency of your fireplace and the amount of heat radiating back into the room. A wood burning fireplace insert upgrades the appearance and functionality of your fireplace allowing you to use it a reliable, alternative heating source.  With the right insert, you can easily heat a large living space and go hours without having to add extra fuel to the fire.

Whether you are looking to convert to gas or install a wood burning insert – Priddy Clean will help you select and install a unit that upgrades that tired fireplace and integrates it into your living space.
